Celebrating 150th birth anniversary of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore

Rabindranath_Tagore_The High Commission of India in association with the University of Colombo, Tagore Society of Sri Lanka, Universities of Kelaniya and Sri Jayewadenepura and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Sri Lanka has organized a festival of films to commemorate 150th Birth Anniversary of Tagore in Sri Lanka.

Arugam Bay International Surfing continues with splendor

Vavuniya GA blasts BBC for twisting war-related news

Vavuniya Government Agent P. S. M. Charles yesterday blasted the BBC for twisting war-related news to compromise the national reconciliation process. An irate Ms Charles said that a calculated attempt was being made to deceive people living here and abroad regarding the number of missing in Sri Lanka during eelam war IV.


Southern Highway extends to Hambantota


Deputy Minister of Highways Nirmala Kotalawala stated that the Government has decided to extend the Southern highway to Hambantota and as such a feasibility study is being done in this regard.

Musicians honoured at Temple Trees

Two leading Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) manufactures are planning to establish assembling plants in Hambantota. The two companies from Korea and Europe have sought the Board of Investments approval to acquire lands near the Ruhunu Magampura Port for this project.

Law College honours Sri Lanka President
